Prospect Point Brewing

Stuff the Bus Participating Business

07/28/2022

Prospect Point Brewing is a family owned and operated brewery located right here in Frederick. The business is owned by Dan Carroll and his wife Katie, fulfilling their dream of having a brewery of their own. Dan and Katie have two children, and when they had the opportunity to help United Way of Frederick County’s Stuff the Bus program, they jumped right in to be involved. The brewery has a Frederick County Public School (FCPS) bus on their property to bring awareness to the annual school supply drive. They are also hosting collection bins at their brewery so customers can drop off school supplies that will provide FCPS students with the tools they need to start the school year.

“The fact that some kids in our community struggle to obtain school supplies stung because kids and animals are a soft spot for me and my wife, and our entire family really,” said Dan. “When we were asked to have the opportunity to do it, it was really a no brainer. It’s awesome that we have the space to park the bus, and it’s just the right thing to do being born and raised in Frederick. "

Doing the right thing is important to Prospect Point Brewing, and that can be seen in the community they are building with their brewery. Dan and his wife Katie have fostered a great community of families and friends that come together. Not only do they enjoy their time together at the brewery, but also give back to the community that they call home. They embody what it means to LIVE UNITED.

“Frederick is hometown for us. It is great to finally have a platform where we can do this kind of thing, and people want to participate in it,” said Dan. “That was, from the beginning, when we were creating the brewery and the experience, something we knew would allow us to have a better platform to give back as much as possible to children and animals.”

Prospect Point Brewing is a place where families feel comfortable going out and enjoying themselves. This has made our partnership seamless as families have already come out and donated supplies to the drive, helping Frederick County students start the school year with the supplies they need to enrich their education and grow. Such is a fitting example of what makes the community of Frederick so special, people coming together to LIVE UNITED and help their community prosper.

“Obviously, children are a wonderful thing,” said Dan. “So, any way we can possibly help them, that’s what we want to do.”

Thank you, Prospect Point Brewing, for helping the children of our community have the supplies they need to have a successful school year. If you would like to help our Stuff the Bus program, please feel free to donate supplies at Prospect Point Brewing or any of the other drop off locations around Frederick ahead of August 3.
